Seriously?!? Why would you do that? Why are so many parents supporting this lie? Do you even understand the impact that this lie can potentially have on your child? You know that they are going to find out the truth eventually, and it could very well be the very first time in your child's life that they understand that they have been lied to. How many children were introduced to the concept of lying this way? By being lied to... by their parents. The very people they have trusted the most up until that point - the very same people that continuously remind them that lying is wrong. Nothing like childhood trauma and cognitive dissonance to get ya in the holiday spirit, eh?

Just stop the lying, already. And don't give me that shit about "well actually, Saint Nicholas was a real person and blah blah lalala" - that isn't what I'm talking about and nobody gives a shit.

And yes, this goes for the tooth fairy as well. Jerks.
